On the beautiful Isle of Wight .....
Ventnor Golf Club is the oldest club on the Isle of Wight and was founded in 1892.  The course is in a very pleasant downland and cliff top setting, with probably the best views on the Island, providing panoramic vistas over the surrounding country side, to the mainland and English Channel.
It is a twelve hole course, with six of the twelve holes being played twice.  Alternative tee boxes on several of these holes providing a variation on the back nine.  The overall length is approximately 5,700 yards, SSS 68 Par 70.  Enjoyable and challenging for both low and high handicappers.  We are an exceptionally friendly little club and visitors are always made very welcome.  The course is open from 7am until dusk.

When competitions are taking place, on Sundays and Tuesdays, the course generally will be closed until 12.30pm.  Finally, please observe our dress code and course etiquette and above all enjoy your game. Are you thinking of joining a club? Then come and have a free round with one of our members and also enjoy the views.  Beginners are most welcome and we can arrange to show you how to play this wonderful game.
You can simply "Pay and Play" before 12 noon for just £25. Check out Green Fees for Afternoon Special Rates.

We are a Volunteer run club, consequently, the phone is not always manned, so please email us at

Safety Golf
England Golf Statement - We want everyone to have a safe, fun experience in golf. That’s why we’ve launched the SafeGolf accreditation for affiliated clubs and facilities. The SafeGolf accreditation process is designed to enable clubs, through easily accessible documents and templates, to ensure they are delivering a safe environment for the sport to be played in. Ventnor Golf Club has been awarded the England Golf SafeGolf Standard. The necessary work to achieve the Standard was undertaken by the Club's Welfare Officer, Richard Peace.  Contact details for Richard together with information on the SafeGolf Standards are on the attached pages.
The Oldest, Smallest and Friendliest Club on the Island
Ventnor is a unique course on the Isle of Wight, set on downs overlooking Ventnor with enviable views. Here is a message received by Sid Lines, one of our Directors in October 2021, from a group of visitors from Ufford Park Golf Club, Suffolk, that included their Captain and two Past Captains.
"Hi Sid.  I just wanted to say thanks for your help, and let you know how much we enjoyed playing Ventnor today! Pete Norcutt greeted and looked after us wonderfully well, and we loved the quirky nature of the course, and the stunning views it afforded all around. Five very happy golfers - the course is a credit to you and the members... now filed under "hidden gems" With warm wishes Piers, Barry, John, Murray and Heather - Ufford Park Golf Club, Suffolk"
