Founded in 1892, Ventnor Golf Club is the oldest golf club on the Island. Designed by the legendary Tom Dunn, it's a downland links course, set on Rew Down above Ventnor, with magnificent views over the surrounding countryside and the English Channel.
5700 yards, SSS68, Par 70 it provides an interesting and enjoyable challenge for golfers of all standards. It is unusual in that it is a twelve hole course with six of the holes being played twice. Alternative tee boxes on two of these holes providing a marked variation to the way they are played. The greens have to be seen in the low winter or summer evening sunlight to appreciate their subtle contours. With four par 3s, twelve par 4s and two par 5s, there is something to suit everyone whether or not you are long off the tee.
Open for play from 7am to dusk. Tee times are only restricted on Tuesdays, Sundays and some Thursdays when the course is usually closed for general play until mid morning.
As one visitor remarked, who played during the past season, "overall one of the most enjoyable courses I have played and as for the views, what can one say - simply superb".
